Obituary for Shirley Chapman

Shirley A. Chapman, 87, a resident of Windy Hill Village and formerly of Gearhartville and Lock Haven, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at the village. Born March 24, 1930 in Lock Haven, she was a daughter of the late Carl R. & Lillian G. (Smith) Weaver. For most of her life, Shirley worked in retail at clothing stores in Lock Haven. She was of the Protestant faith and enjoyed gardening. On May 15, 1976 in Bellefonte, she married Charles Fredrick Chapman Sr., who passed away April 5, 2003. Shirley is survived by a daughter Georgiann Brown and her husband Michael of Osceola Mills; two sons Joseph Caskey and his wife Lynne of Mill Hall and Charles F. Chapman Jr. and his wife Cathy of Gerhartville; five grandchildren Brent Dennison, Terri Hill, Nicole Curtis, Chase Chapman and Colton Chapman; and four great grandchildren. She was the last of her generation and was preceded in death by her parents and husband. A Funeral service will be held at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, 228 N. Centre St. Philipsburg, PA, on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 11:00am with Rev. Dr. Katie Hopper officiating. Burial will be in the Philipsburg Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday, November 24 from 5 to 7pm and on Saturday, November 25 from 10am until the hour of service at 11am.
