Obituary for Ricky Loughhead

Ricky C. Loughhead, 58, of Gearhartville, passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, March 8, 2018. Born February 27, 1960 in Philipsburg, he was a son of Norma (Mostyn) Loughhead, who survives of Philipsburg and the late Clair F. Loughhead. Ricky was currently employed at Lowe’s of Clearfield and was previously employed as a service manager at the former Fred Diehl’s of Philipsburg and a diesel mechanic at King Coal. He was a member of the New Life Center, Philipsburg, a volunteer and former fire chief of Chester Hill Hose Co. and when he was younger he was an umpire for Little League in Osceola Mills. Ricky was an avid sports fan, especially of the Steelers and Pirates. He also loved to watch his grandchildren play soccer and enjoyed hunting and being outdoors. On February 21, 1981 in Juniata, he married Christine A. Grimminger, who survives at home. In addition to his wife and mother, Ricky is survived by two daughters Bridgett Loughhead of Clearfield and Megan Sawdey and her husband Jeremy of Lancaster; 3 Grandchildren Hunter McKinney, Hayden McKinney and Calin Sawdey; a brother Robert F. Loughhead and his wife Covert of Mifflinburg; a sister Lisa K. Russell and her husband Tom of Blissfield, MI and several nieces & nephews. He is also survived by his father and mother in law Edward and Judy Grimminger of Altoona, and his beloved yellow lab “Lexi”. He was preceded in death by his Father and a brother Jeff Loughhead. A funeral service for Ricky will be held at the Dahlgren-Spewock Funeral Home, Inc., 228 N. Centre St. Philipsburg, on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 12:00 pm with Pastor John T. Dill officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday, March 12 from 10am until the hour of service at 12pm.
