Obituary for Lois Royer-Wise

Lois Eleanor Royer-Wise, 80, passed away peacefully at Windy Hill Village, Philipsburg on Saturday, November 24, 2018. Born May 31, 1938 in Clearfield, she was a daughter of Frederick Eugene & Roxy Viola (Appleton) Royer. Along with her six brothers and sisters, she grew up on a farm near Litz’s Bridge. Lois was a cook at St. Charles Café in Clearfield and at the former Harbor Inn in Philipsburg until her retirement. She was of the Christian faith and loved owls, her children and spending time with her family. She was huge fan of Joe Paterno. Lois is survived by three children Fred Wise and his wife Mary of New Liberty (Philipsburg), Gary Wise and his wife Lisa of Philipsburg and Roxann Wise of Wallaceton; a brother Wayne Royer and his wife Gail of West Decatur; seven grandchildren Crystal Wise, Curtis Wise, Amber Wise, Harlie Wise, Jennifer Wise, Casie Bowls and Nathan Sabol and three great grandchildren Keenan Wise, Curtis Wise Jr. and Krya Barton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert James Wise, who passed away in 1977, brothers Alfred, John and Austin, and sisters Edna Smeal, Helen Bloom and Marian Kuhn. Funeral Services will be held at the Dahlgren-Spewock Funeral Home, Inc., 228 N. Centre St. Philipsburg, on Wednesday, November 28 at 11:00am with retired Pastor W. Dean Krause officiating. Burial will be in Stoneville Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 27 from 6 to 8pm and on Wednesday, November 28 from 10 until the hour of service. Memorial contributions in Lois’s memory may be made to the funeral home. Online condolences to the family may be made at www.dahlgren-spewock.com. Lois was a strong woman who held her family together. Her witty and comical personality will never dull. Her family will greatly miss their matriarch.
