Obituary for Donald Tatters

Donald A. Tatters, 60, of Philipsburg, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Penn Highlands Clearfield. Born January 30, 1957 in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late Donald R. & Olive F. (Swanson) Tatters. Don was a graduate of Philipsburg Osceola High School and was affiliated with the Methodist faith. He worked in maintenance for Chester Hill Borough and Philipsburg Borough, until his retirement. Don was a member of the Philipsburg Am Vets Post 159, enjoyed roller skating and was an avid NASCAR fan. Don is survived by his companion Darlene Rowles of Philipsburg; two sons DJ Tatters and Brian Tatters, both of Philipsburg; a daughter Brenda Reader and her husband Jason of Houtzdale; a brother Terry Swanson and his wife Peggy of Houtzdale; three sisters Veronica Keith and her husband James of Bigler, Doris Ann Saggese and her husband Michael of Philipsburg and Martha Risbon and her husband Jeffery of Philipsburg; 3 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. A memorial service will be held at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, 228 N. Centre St. Philipsburg, on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 2pm. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 1 to 2pm. Burial will be in the Philipsburg Cemetery.
