Obituary for Shirley Albert

Shirley M. Albert, 85, of Morrisdale, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Dayspring Personal Care Home, Morrisdale. Born April 27, 1932 in Philipsburg, she was a daughter of the late John E. & Margaret (Northammer) Wilkinson. Shirley was a 1949 graduate of Cooper Township High School and was a member of the First Church of Christ, Philipsburg. She was a Post-Master at the Kylertown Post Office for over 40 years. She loved working at the Post Office and interacting with her customers. Shirley also enjoyed parades, fireworks, traveling and attending her children’s school functions. On May 8, 1954 in Kylertown, she married Gerald L. Albert, who passed away October 5, 2014. Shirley is survived by a daughter Debra L. Albert of Spencer, WV; two sons Joel L. Albert and his wife Patricia of West Decatur and G. Randy Albert and his wife Victoria of Morrisdale; a sister Gail Fao and her husband Joe of Lemont; four grandchildren Ryan Albert and his wife Shannon, Eliza Baird and her husband Bret, Cheyenne Albert and Wyatt Albert; and 2 great granddaughters Margaret Albert and Elinor Albert. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Funeral Services will be held at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, 228 N. Centre St. Philipsburg, on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 11:00 am with Pastor Ryan Parish officiating. Burial will be at the Kylertown Presbyterian Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday, May 8 from 6 to 8 pm and on Tuesday, May 9 from 10 am until the hour of service at 11. Memorial contributions in Shirley’s memory may be made to the First Church of Christ, 1437 Tyrone Pike, Philipsburg, PA 16866.
