Obituary for William "Bill" Wendler

William E. “Bill” Wendler, 75, of Morrisdale, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Windy Hill Village, Philipsburg. Born January 10, 1942 in Dubois, PA, he was a son of the late Carl W. & Marcella C. (Owens) Wendler. Bill was a graduate of Sandy Township High School and was of the Catholic Faith. He was a businessman for many years in San Diego, California. A veteran of the US Airforce, he served during the Vietnam Conflict as a Radar Technician. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, canoeing and camping. Bill is survived by his wife Barbara L. (Ballard) Wendler, at home; two brothers Carl F. Wendler and his wife Joyce of Pine Grove Mills and Joseph Wendler of Glenville, PA; and nieces and nephews Charles Wendler of Philipsburg, Jennine Murray of Alexandria, Kimberly Wendler of Milesburg, Brian Wendler of Milesburg, Kari Nye of Allison Park and Matthew Wendler of Coconut Creek, FL. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a brother Regis Wendler. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no public viewing, per Bill’s request. Memorial contributions in Bill’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences to the family may be made at www.dahlgrenfuneralhome.com.
