Obituary for William "Mac" McWilliams

William M. McWilliams, 75, of Philipsburg, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at his home. Born February 2, 1947 in Sacramento, CA, he was one of several children of Albert A. and Barbara Helene (Barsanti) McWilliams. He was a 1966 graduate of Terra Nova High School and was an avid reader and competition shooter. Mac was a truck driver and traveled many miles with his cat Tiger by his side. Once retired from his trucking career in 2015, he enjoyed socializing with his many friends. He was proud to serve in the US Navy during Vietnam on the USS Canopus. Mac was a life member and past commander of the Philipsburg Am-Vets Post 159, the Philipsburg VFW Post 3450 and the Frenchville VFW Post 8386. He was a member of various organizations including the Philipsburg American Legion, Vietnam Veterans of Clearfield, Mosquito Creek Sportsmen Club, MOOSE, Elks, and Lincoln Club. Mac was most proud of being affiliated with the Moshannon Valley Veterans Memorial Wall. Honoring his service, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 2nd at 12pm at the Moshannon Valley Veterans Memorial Wall. Mac was laid to rest at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA. Memorial contributions in Mac’s memory may be made to M.V.V.M.W., c/o 210 N. Centre St. Philipsburg, PA 16866.
