Obituary for William "Bob" Kay

William R. “Bob” Kay, 94, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018, at Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield. Born on November 23, 1923 in Hawk Run, he was the son of the late Robert and Mary (Daley) Kay.Bob was a graduate of Philipsburg High School and Lock Haven University. He was a teacher at Moshannon Valley and Philipsburg-Osceola School Districts, retiring in 1981. On September 6, 1952 in Spring Mills, PA, Bob married the former Garnet L. Harpst, who survives at home. In addition to his wife, he will be deeply missed by a daughter, Cheryl Marsayda of Hazel Twp., PA; three sons, Gregory Kay of Osceola Mills, Brett Kay of York Haven, PA, and Forrest Kay of Osceola Mills; three sisters, Peggy Scottson of Chester Hill, Dorothy Perks of Philipsburg, and Nancy Knecht of S. Philipsburg. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Alexandra, Benjamin, Michael, Shantelle, Gregory, Shawn, and Hunter; 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Mary Helen Connors and a brother Richard Kay.A Memorial Service will be held at Dahlgren-Spewock Funeral Home, Inc. 228 N. Centre St., Philipsburg on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11:00am with Pastor Elizabeth Stutler officiating. Online condolences to the family may be made at www.dahlgren-spewock.com
