William R. “Billy” Jones, 72, a resident of the Philipsburg Towers, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2019 in Rush Township, Philipsburg. Born March 17, 1947 in DuBois, he was a son of the late Raymond & Mabel E. (Jones) Jones. Billy was a member of the First Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, putting puzzles together, playing bingo, riding his bike, watching wrestling, walking, going on shopping trips and helping out at the Senior Center. He enjoyed life and was a good friend to everybody. Billy is survived by two sisters Norma J. Jones of Albuquerque, NM and Sandra Swansegar and her husband Rudolph of Philipsburg and two nephews Rudy Swansegar and Paul Swansegar. He was preceded in death by his parents. A funeral service will be held at the Dahlgren-Spewock Funeral Home, Inc., 228 N. Centre St. Philipsburg, on Friday, May 24 at 11am with Pastor Ted G. Seibert officiating.
