Obituary for Thomas Pryde

Thomas Lee Pryde, 61, of Bellefonte, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021 at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. Born October 28, 1960 in Philipsburg, he was a son Thomas Rex Pryde, who survives of State College and the late Janet R. (Catherine) Pryde. Tom was a 1978 graduate of Philipsburg High School and served in the US Navy for 8 years. He was employed at Penn State working in Food Service. Tom was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Philipsburg and was an avid fan of Penn State football. He enjoyed tailgating and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his father, he is survived by a sister Susan M. Wall and her husband Harlin “Chip” of State College; a niece Katherine Wall of Kittery, ME; two nephews Ryan Wall and Matthew Wall, both of State College; his uncle and aunt Don and Dixie Catherine; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother and his grandparents Octavius “Toby” and Dorothy M. (Whitehead) Catherine and Thomas Leslie and Mary J. (Lannen) Pryde. A memorial mass will be celebrated at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 400 S. Fourth St., Philipsburg, on Sunday, November 28 at 1pm with Father Michael Pleva as celebrant. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at noon. Private burial will be in the Philipsburg Cemetery.
