Obituary for Shirley Kelce

Shirley J. Kelce, 85, formerly of Chester Hill, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Eagle Valley Personal Care Home, Milesburg. Born November 6, 1936 in Morrisdale, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Batcho) Sheroke. In addition to being a homemaker, Shirley was an integral part of running the family business. She was also a seamstress and especially enjoyed making quilts, giving many of them to children. Shirley was baptized and confirmed at St. John the Baptist in Hawk Run, PA and was a member of the Port Matilda United Methodist Church. On November 7, 1953 in Winchester, VA, she married Donald L. Kelce Sr., who passed away July 10, 2021. Shirley is survived by daughters Ruby Davis and husband Jerrell of Orlando, FL, Sharon Kelce of Julian, and Karen Urbanik and husband John of Philipsburg; son Matthew Kelce of Philipsburg; sisters Marie McClellan and her husband Lester of Bellefonte and Joanna Anawald of Corfu, NY; brother Richard Sheroke of New Jersey; seven grandchildren Jennifer Kauffman, Nathan Henry, Lance Henry, Sean Kelce, Ian Urbanik, Paul Urbanik and Matthew Kelce; and nine great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son Donald L. Kelce Jr., grandsons Christopher Henry, Jason Kelce and Aaron Schaffner, sisters Dorothy Ryver, Josephine Dysart, Laura Myers, Mae Winters and Delores Hughes and brothers John R. Sheroke Jr. and Robert Sheroke. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Shirley’s memory may be made to the Clearfield County SPCA, 275 21st Street, Clearfield, PA 16830, PAWS, 1401 Trout Rd., State College, PA 16801, or your local animal shelter.
