Sarah Gray Bock, 84, of Pleasant Hill, Philipsburg RD, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College. Born July 4, 1937 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Dr. Cornell Gilbert Gray and Beatrice (Lewis) Gray. Sarah was a graduate of Hanover High School. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Middlebury College and a Masters degree in Education from Penn State University. Throughout her teaching career, she taught at Williamsport, Philipsburg-Osceola and West Branch school districts. Sarah was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She enjoyed caring for her grandchildren in her later years and teaching and playing piano. On June 23, 1962 in Hanover, she married Harold Randall Bock, who preceded her in death on December 3, 1992. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her sisters Patricia Becker and Carol Foreman. Sarah is survived by two children Randall G. Bock and wife Brenda of Philipsburg and Tamatha Watro and husband John Jr., of Philipsburg; two step children Timothy L. Bock of Sarasota, FL and Cynthia Peck and husband William of Williamsport and three grandchildren Chance A. Watro, Sarah D. Bock and Evan R. Bock.
Family and friends will be received at the Dahlgren-Spewock Funeral Home, Inc., 228 N. Centre St. Philipsburg, on Tuesday, August 17 from 1pm until the hour of service at 3pm. Rev. Jeffrey Packard will officiate. Sarah will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Philipsburg Cemetery.
