Obituary for Russell Reiter

Russell P. Reiter, 52, of Roanoke, VA, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. Born April 6, 1966 in Philipsburg, he was a son of Edward P. Reiter, who survives of Philipsburg and the late June (Roach) Reiter. Russ was a 1984 graduate of Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School and a 1988 graduate of Penn State. He was employed in sales in the Physical Therapy field. Russ was an avid bicyclist. In addition to his father, Russ is survived by two sons Matthew and Joshua, both of Roanoke; his sister Amy M. Reiter of Wentworth, NH; his brother Edward E. Reiter of Philipsburg; and sisters Katie Ellis of Boalsburg, PA, Elizabeth White of Castle Rock, CO, and Annie McCarty of Colorado Springs, CO. He is also survived by his girlfriend Robin Brookman of Roanoke, VA, nieces, nephews, many friends and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his mother June Reiter on December 20, 1974 and by his step mother Daisy Reiter on August 18, 2016. A memorial service and reception will be held at the Social Hall of Ss Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 400 S. Fourth St. Philipsburg, on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at 4:00pm with Pastor Christine Roe officiating. Memorial contributions in Russ’s memory may be made to the Moshannon Valley Branch of the YMCA, PO Box 426, Philipsburg, PA 16866.
