Obituary for Norma Loughhead

Norma J. Loughhead, 94, formerly of North Philipsburg and the Philipsburg Towers, passed away Monday, July 18, 2022 at Windy Hill Village, Philipsburg. Born January 3, 1928 in Philipsburg, she was a daughter of the late Francis William Mostyn and Lois (Adams) Mostyn. On July 13, 1953 in Elkins, West Virginia, she married Clair F. Loughhead, who passed away April 10, 2003. Norma was a graduate of the Philipsburg High School and the LPN program at the former Clearfield County Vo-Tech. She was an LPN at the former Moshannon Valley Medical Center and the former Philipsburg Hospital for 19 years. Norma was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Philipsburg, where she taught Sunday School and Bible School and enjoyed writing poetry, drawing and painting. Norma is survived by a son Robert F. Loughhead and his wife Covert of Mifflinburg, a daughter Lisa K. Russell and her husband Tom of Blissfield, Michigan, a brother Edward Mostyn of Hawk Run, 7 Grandchildren: Michelle Cruz, Melanie Shea, Jared Loughhead, Kristi Bloom, Chad Prohaska, Bridgett McKinney and Megan Loughhead, 2 Step Grandchildren: Brent Srock and Keith Srock, 9 great grandchildren: Kaitlin Bloom, Logan Bloom, Hannah Loughhead, Tyler Loughhead, Robert Cruz, Alex Cruz, Hunter McKinney, Hayden McKinney and Easton Loughhead, and a God-son Tim Shuey of Philipsburg. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 sons Jeffrey L. Loughhead and Ricky C. Loughhead and 2 Brothers William Mostyn and Jack Mostyn. A funeral service will be held at the Dahlgren-Spewock Funeral Home, Inc., 228 N. Centre St. Philipsburg, on Friday, July 22, 2022 at 1:00pm with Pastor Scott Hartsock officiating. Norma will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Philipsburg Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 11am until the hour of service.
