Obituary for Michael Warholic

Michael Eugene Warholic, 71, of Morrisdale, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College, surrounded by his family. Born December 12, 1946 in Houtzdale, he was a son of the late Michael & Mary (Laskowsky) Warholic. Michael was a veteran of the US Army Reserves during the Vietnam Era. He proudly worked in the mines of Associated Drilling and Rushton Mine in Osceola Mills. After the mines closed, he became a PA Corrections Officer working at SCI Rockview, SCI Houtzdale and SCI Pine Grove, where he retired after 25 years of service. He was a member of the United Mine Workers Union and the Glen Campbell Legion Post 435. He enjoyed spending time with his family, cars, hunting, fishing and being outdoors. On July 20, 2006 he married Renee B. Stimach, who survives. He is also survived by a son Michael Warholic and his wife Michelle of Kentucky; two daughters Michele Warholic Moslak and her husband Darrin of Philipsburg and their children Amanda and Quinten; Polly Warholic Moulton and her husband Keith of Massachusetts and their daughters Ruby and Alice; a step daughter Rochelle Wigand and her husband Michael of Latrobe and their sons Connor and Ethan; and a sister Frances Graham of Woodland. Honoring Michael’s wishes, there will be no public viewing. A celebration of his life will be held at St. Barbara’s Polish National Catholic Church Social Hall, 76 Emery Ave., Houtzdale, PA 16651, on Sunday, October 7, 2018 from 2 to 4pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Michael’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 108R N. 2nd St. Suite 1B, Clearfield, PA 16830.
