Josephine Runk, 93, of Philipsburg RD, passed away at her home on Wednesday, July 18, 2018. Born November 15, 1924 in Clearfield, she was a daughter of the late Willis I. & Ada V. (Lippart) Long. Josephine was a 1944 graduate of Clearfield High School and was a member of Rock United Methodist Church, West Decatur. She was a former member of the Philipsburg Mountaineers and the Gearhartville Sportsmen’s Club. Josephine worked as a homemaker. On October 27, 1945 in Clearfield, she married Paul J. Runk, who passed away March 20, 2009. Josephine is survived by a daughter Judy E. Hughes and her husband Alvin, a granddaughter Erin Brimmeier and her husband Paul, and two great grandsons Parker James and Nolan Henry, all of Philipsburg RD. The last of her generation, she was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister Mabel “Pat” Young, and two brothers Robert Long and Willis I. Long Jr. A celebration of life service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at the Philipsburg Cemetery. Honoring Josephine’s request, there will be no public visitation.
