Condolences

Condolence From: Vic Welker
Condolence: Coach Condo was my West Branch Wrestling Coach. He was a great man and great coach. God placed him in my life at a crucial time when I was young and looking for direction. God used him in a mighty way in my life. I will always remember his integrity, caring and discipline. He made me a better wrestler and better man. I went on to wrestle in college thanks to Coach's time and effort in my life. It always made my day when I got to see him when I was home from California visiting family. I thank my Lord and Savior for Coach Condo and the role he had in my life. To God be the glory- Vic Welker

Condolence: I am so very sorry for your loss. Please find comfort in God's sure promise of a resurrection as set forth in the Bible. (Acts 24:15; John 5:28,29) Those who are raised to life will have the prospect of never again being subject to misery, sickness, or death. (Revelation 21:4) I hope that reflecting on these thoughts and your wonderful memories will give you some relief during this difficult time.

Condolence From: Tut Bailey
Condolence: It’s with sadness and gratitude for Dick Condo that I write this dedication. I was a fortunate spectator to your love as a husband & father to your family, your humor & warmth as one of my father’s & family’s most trusted friends & your calming nature to anyone who met you. Your legacy is your amazing family & their families - on or off the court/field/mat great competitors & people. To Vicki, Gerri, Kurt, Bill, Jon & your extended family, the Baileys send our deepest condolences. We understand the pain...please know that over time the lessons & love will far outlast the loss. For the first time in decades I am hearing my Dad’s voice in my head saying “J. Richard!”...which I am sure is how he met him in heaven.

Condolence: I, along with countless others, am saddened to hear of Dick Condo’s passing. Dick was a long-time treasured friend and colleague. He was truly a great man whose life made an eternal significance in this world. I’ll always remember Dick as a family man and a man of great faith whose calling in life was impacting the lives of young people through the sport of wrestling and his passion for teaching. A person couldn't cross paths with Dick Condo and have him not impact you. This has been mentioned frequently and upon his death, it is most apparent. Dick had an amazing gift for hearing and seeing things that others just don’t hear and see. He could listen to someone for 5 minutes as they described a problem and then spend the next hour helping them to see the thinking that caused the problem in the first place, but more importantly, the thinking and the actions that would solve it. I'm thankful for my time with Dick and the lessons he has taught me. My thoughts and prayers go out to Vicki, the family, and the multitude of wrestlers and students who loved and respected him. Love you Coach Condo, Rest in peace.

Condolence: I have unending love Dick Condo. My trust in him was unlimited. His devotion to his family, teaching and wrestling duties were reliably whole-hearted. I leaned on him for advice, completing important tasks and protecting delicate relationships with his calm and gentle nature. Most importantly, he was a loyal and faithful friend for decades. His mature and steady passion for life haas made him an excellent role model. His generous nature led him to adopt a generous servant role toward his family, church and community. His teaching, coaching, family life and community relationships has made his impact a legacy in the Moshannon Valley. I am very grateful for his life.

Condolence: Vicki, Jon and all the family: I was both shocked and extremely saddened to learn of Dick’s sudden passing. My dad spoke about Dick (and Jon) often to me on the phone the many years I was in Atlanta. He admired Dick a lot - as a father, a good man, and a great athlete. I am grateful to have had the privilege of getting to know Dick better since I moved back, and it has only confirmed my dad’s thoughts tenfold. He was a wonderful guy, and I am truly heartbroken for your family. You will stay in my thoughts and prayers. My heart is heavy . May God give you the strength you need at this very tough time, and in the future.

Condolence: I remember Dick Condo as perhaps the most serious and dedicated freshman wrestler to arrive at St. Francis in the Fall of 1965. Like several of the other new wrestlers, he helped make the team a more focused group and contributed to improving our chance of winning matches. I don't know how much Dick weighed when he returned to Loretto each year, but I clearly recall how his eyes would sink deeper into his head and his face would get thinner as he "cut weight" before the season began. His temperament and dedication contributed to his success as a school teacher. As I note the tributes from his former students, he clearly was a positive influence on a great number of them. Now we are in an era that recognizes, thanks and praises our Military Serviceman, I feel those Class room teachers who dedicated their lives to our youth and preparing them for a better future should be thanked as well. Thank you, Dick.

Condolence: From one of his many former students..........I will always remember his smile. You'd think a teacher would not remember their students, but even after more than 40 years years he would smile and make a point to say hello. Very sad to hear this news.
