Janet M. (Smith) Korinchak, 77, of Garwood, NJ, and formerly of Philipsburg, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 29, 2018. Born October 14, 1940 in Philipsburg, she was a daughter of the late Clair Smith & Lenore (Jackson) Smith. She resided in Garwood, NJ for the last 55 years. Janet had been a crossing guard in Garwood for 30 years. She was a member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Garwood Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of the Garwood Presbyterian Church.Surviving are her devoted children Thomas (Mai) Korinchak, Christopher (Wendy) Korinchak and Karyn (Gus) Alvarez and seven beloved grandchildren. Janet was preceded in death by her parents; husband Thomas in 1995; a sister Patricia Archer and a brother Donald C. Smith.Friends will be received at the Dahlgren-Spewock Funeral Home Inc., 228 N. Centre St. Philipsburg, on Monday, May 14, 2018 from 10am until 12pm.
