Obituary for James Ferguson

James L. Ferguson, 63, of Osceola Mills and formerly of Philipsburg, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born February 8, 1955 in Philipsburg, he was a son of the late James L. Ferguson and Rachel J. Kelley. Jim was a 1973 graduate of West Branch High School and received an Associate Degree in specialized technology from Hiram G. Andrews Center, Johnstown in 1995. He retired from Everett School District, where he was a computer technician for 14 years. Previously, he was a truck driver for D&J Maurer Trucking Company for 17 years. Jim had a huge love of horses and was a member of the Tom Mix Rangers Horse Club. He was also an avid hunter. Jim is survived by two sons Joseph James Ferguson and his wife Sheri and Andrew Thomas Ferguson; three sisters Mary Jane Burke and her husband Chuck of White Oak, Ruthann Barnes of Sheldon, Iowa, and Lisa A. Harris of Virginia Beach, VA; four brothers Barry T. Ferguson and his wife Alice of Somerset, David A. Ferguson and his wife Jamie of Philipsburg, Michael R. Ferguson and his wife Iris of South Park and Paul L. Ferguson and his wife Rejeana of Milwaukee, WI; 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Funeral services will be held at the Dahlgren-Spewock Funeral Home, Inc., 228 N. Centre St. Philipsburg, on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 6pm. Burial will be in the Philipsburg Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday, March 1, from 5 until 6pm.
