On Friday, January 29, 2021, Ilene Mae Millard, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away at the age of 77 at home in Philipsburg. Ilene was born on February 4, 1943 in Johnstown, to Blaine and Florence (Peterson) Kunsman. She married the love of her life, Harry Millard Jr. on November 10, 1962 in Philipsburg. Ilene’s greatest pleasure in life was taking care of her family, especially taking care of her grandchildren, who had an immeasurable impact on her life. She loved company, evident by her brilliant smile which greeted every guest. Nothing made Ilene happier than feeding family and friends. If you went home hungry, it was your own fault. She was an excellent cook and did her share of canning from the garden throughout summer. She attended the Gearhartville Free Methodist Church and was a graduate of Moshannon Valley High School. Ilene is survived by her husband of 58 years, Harry; two sons Tim Millard and wife Lori and Jerry Millard and wife Terri; daughter Kelly Millard and partner Dan Nelson; and her loyal dog Lucky, all of Philipsburg; grandsons, Devin Millard and wife Morgan of Kylertown and Justin Millard of Fort Campbell, KY; great grandson Carson Millard of Clarksville, TN, along with three step grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters Carol Kear and husband Keith of Philipsburg, Jo Ann Myers and husband Pete of Houtzdale, Nancy Ward and husband Tom of Ocean Isle Beach, SC, Connie Passmore and husband Don of New Millport; twin sister, Maxine Rowles and husband Floyd of Olanta, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Ronnie Kunsman. Ilene was adored, loved, and will be missed dearly. A funeral service will be held at the Dahlgren-Spewock Funeral Home, Inc., 228 N. Centre St. Philipsburg, on Friday, February 5 at 11am with Pastor Noel Meyers officiating. Ilene will be laid to rest at Centre United Methodist Cemetery, Osceola Mills. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10am until the hour of service.
