Obituary for Gerard "Wolf" DuBois

Gerard R. “Wolf” DuBois, 69, of West Decatur, passed away Friday, May 3, 2019 at UPMC Altoona. Born November 24, 1949 in New Brunswick, NJ, he was a son of the late Gerard Oliver & Mary Rose (Philips) DuBois. Gerard was a graduate of Moshannon Valley High School and was a Stone Mason for Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Local 9. He was active in the Jaycees where he served as state president; the Clearfield Moose Lodge 97 where he served as district president and state representative; was a member of the Philipsburg AmVets, Philipsburg American Legion, Carpathian Club, Mosquito Creek Sportsman’s Club and was an auxiliary member of the Philipsburg VFW. Gerard was a member of the planning committee for the Veteran’s Memorial Wall in Philipsburg and had also served on the school board of the P-O School District. Gerard was a Christian and enjoyed gardening and collecting wolves. On February 17, 2012 in Philipsburg, he married the former Jeannette A. Williams, who survives at home. Gerard is also survived by a son Eugene M. DuBois and his wife Amanda of Curwensville; two step-daughters Kathy Jo Harnish and her husband Keith of Hyde and Rebecca Martell of Curwensville; a brother James DuBois and his wife Noreen of New Jersey; a sister Marianne Zarzycki and her husband Paul of New Jersey; a grandson Austin; four step grandchildren; two step great grandchildren and two nieces. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his previous wife Juaynedia K. “Wandy” (Cowder) DuBois, whom he married in Morrisdale on August 8, 1981 and passed away May 17, 1997; and a brother George J. DuBois. Friends will be received at the Dahlgren-Spewock Funeral Home, Inc., 228 N. Centre St. Philipsburg, on Saturday, May 11, 2019 from 4 to 9pm, with a service at 5pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial contributions in Gerard’s memory to be made to the Central PA Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, PA 16602.
