Obituary for Florence Rothrock

Florence V. Rothrock, 96, formerly of Philipsburg, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Weatherwood Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Weatherly, PA surrounded by her granddaughter Cindy and her great granddaughters. Born July 17, 1920 in Gearhartville, she was a daughter of the late Frank H. & Martha A. (Taylor) Middleton. Florence was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, DAR and AM Vets Ladies Auxiliary. She was a graduate of Philipsburg High School. On January 18, 1947 in Philipsburg, she married Mitchell Marvin Rothrock, who passed away January 13, 1994. She was also preceded in death by a son Frank M. Rothrock, a sister Isabelle Graffius and two brothers John H. and George T. Middleton. Florence is survived by a daughter in law Connie Rothrock of Saylorsburg, two granddaughters Cindy Sweeney and Christina Rothrock; four great grandchildren Krysanthra Hedden, Kalista Hedden, Mitchell Sweeney and Jacob Sweeney; and several nieces & nephews. A funeral service will be held at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, 228 N. Centre St. Philipsburg on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 11am with Pastor Michelle R. Bodle officiating. Burial will be at the Philipsburg Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 13 from 6 to 8pm and on Wednesday, December 14 from 10am until the hour of service. Memorial contributions in Florence’s memory may be made to Grace United Methodist Church 912 E. Pine St. Philipsburg, PA 16866.
