Edna S. Wood, 97, formerly of Philipsburg, passed away Monday, April 8, 2019 at Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield. Born August 10, 1921 in Brisbin, she was a daughter of the late John & Bessie (Philips) Selvage. Edna was of the protestant Faith and was a clerk at the former Cowdrick’s Pharmacy and Ziff’s, both of Philipsburg. She later moved to Warren and worked as an aide at Warren State Hospital. She enjoyed volunteer work. Edna was married to Walter James Wood, who was killed in action on August 12, 1944. She is survived by her son Harry C. Wood and his wife Bunny of Philipsburg; two grandsons Jeff Wood and his wife Becky of Philipsburg and Todd Wood of Ocean City, MD; a great granddaughter Kylie Minarchick and her husband Dustin of Philipsburg and a great-great grandson Nico Minarchick. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Honoring Edna’s wishes, services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
