Edna Mae (Putt) Wilson, age 88, of Forest City, North Carolina and formerly of Philipsburg, Pennsylvania passed away on June 10, 2021 at Hospice Carolina Foothills. Edna was born March 30, 1933 in Clearfield, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Carl and Edna (Knight) Putt. Edna graduated from Clearfield Area High School in 1951. Edna was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church of Philipsburg where she attended Harmony Sunday School, was a member of the Circle of Faith and a member of the Prayer Group. Edna also attended Harvest House Baptist Church while residing in Forest City. Edna served on the Philipsburg Area Hospital Auxiliary, was a former member of the Diabetes Support Group, and a member of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare. Prior to raising her four children, Edna was employed at Sears and Bell Telephone. In her spare time, Edna enjoyed watching Penn State Football, Pittsburgh Steelers Football and the St. Louis Cardinals. Edna is survived by her children, Sandra Lee Southard of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Jeanne Unangst of Forest City, North Carolina; Susan Cimino and her partner Eddie Rankin of Reisterstown, Maryland; and Scott Wilson and his wife, Stephanie of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Edna is also survived by eight grandchildren: Cari Yuvan, Steven Yuvan, Taylor Cimino, Zachary Ament, Brandon Unangst, Brooke Unangst, Mikayla Wilson and Liam Wilson and also several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Ralston of Clearfield; her sister Helen Bean of Philipsburg; her sister Lavetta Bartley of Clearfield; and her brother Harold Putt of Clearfield.
Friends will be received at the Dahlgren-Spewock Funeral Home, 228 N. Centre Street, Philipsburg, on Monday, June 14, 2021 from 6 pm to 8 pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at 10 am with Pastor Don Smith officiating. Interment services will be at Crown Crest Memorial Park, Clearfield now known as Styers Cemetery LLC.
