Obituary for Dorothy Perks

Dorothy Jane Perks, 90, formerly of Gearhartville, passed away Friday, September 14, 2018 at her daughter Linda’s home in Bigler, with whom she was residing. Born August 1, 1928 in Philipsburg, she was a daughter of the late Robert & Mary (Dailey) Kay. Dorothy was a 1946 graduate of Philipsburg High School and of the Methodist Faith. She had worked at General Cigar, BiLo, and the Oasis. On January 23, 1949 in Maryland, she married Albert F. Perks Sr., who passed away November 8, 2002. Dorothy is survived by seven children Albert F. Perks Jr. and his wife Jacqueline of Bigler, Dearine Perks of Homer City, Robert T. Perks and his wife Jeanie of Osceola Mills, Mary Ann Miller of Hawk Run, Tracy Dush and her husband Jim of West Decatur, Linda Brown of Bigler and Eloise Miller and her husband Donald of Bellefonte; two sisters Peggy Scottson and her husband Henry “Dutch” of Chester Hill and Nancy Knecht of Tyrone; 18 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren & great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by a sister Mary Helen Connors and 2 brothers Richard and William Kay. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in Dorothy’s memory may be made to 365 Hospice, 119 S. Main St., Carrolltown, PA 15722.
