Obituary for Doris Roberts (Densham)

Doris Ann Densham Roberts died in her sleep on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at the age of 95. She was predeceased by her husband, Roger Joseph Roberts and siblings Mary Louise Densham, Janet Nearhood, Marlene Diviney, James H. Densham Jr., William E. Densham and Robert W. Densham. Surviving is one sibling, Nancy (Ed) Millinder of West Decatur, Pennsylvania, three children, Kay (Vin), Roger and Rodney (Tara), three granddaughters, Carey, Katy and April, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Doris was born on April 9, 1927, in Morrisdale, Pennsylvania, to James Densham and Edith Wilson Densham, the third of eight children. She moved to Washington, DC, during World War II and worked as a secretary, first at the Federal Bureau of Investigation and later at the Department of Agriculture. A long-time resident of Greenbelt, Maryland, she was a life-long Episcopalian and lover of family, dogs, books, and all forms of life. Doris really enjoyed swimming with her friends at the Greenbelt Aquatic and Fitness Center and walking her dogs all around Greenbelt. She was well loved and will be forever missed and remembered.
A funeral service will be held at the Chapel of the Good Shepherd, 270 Whitman St., Hawk Run, Pennsylvania, on Saturday at 12:00 pm with Rev. Clifford Johnston officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 11am until the hour of service. Interment will follow at the Allport Cemetery.
A service and celebration of Doris’s life will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Beltsville, Maryland, at a later date and time to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a favorite charity of the donor.
