Daniel F. Shannon, 70, of Philipsburg, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2022 at the home of his sister Kathleen. Born January 21, 1952 in Philipsburg, he was a son of J. Frederick and Mary LaRue (Kephart) Shannon. Daniel was a 1969 graduate of Philipsburg Osceola High School and was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and the Lincoln Slovak Club in Hawk Run. Throughout his life, he had worked at Kephart Hardware, the Lincoln Club, Mid-State Airport and Healthcare Billing. Daniel is survived by two sisters Rosemary Shannon of Brisbin and Kathleen Hummel and her husband Robert of Morrisdale; a nephew John (Barb) Gallaher; two nieces Amy (Chuck) Simpson and Melissa (Perry) Walk; one great nephew and three great nieces. A funeral service will be held at the Dahlgren-Spewock Funeral Home, Inc., 228 N. Centre St. Philipsburg, on Friday, July 1 at 11am with Rev. Fr. Robert McKay IV officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Philipsburg Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday, June 30 from 6 to 8pm and on Friday, from 10 until the hour of service.
