Obituary for Clair "Huck" Husted

Clair “Huck” Husted, 90, of West Decatur, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017 at his residence. Born September 12, 1926 at West Decatur, he was a son of the late George & Cora (McCartney) Husted. Huck attended Philipsburg High School and was a salesman at the former Clasters of Philipsburg. A veteran of the US Army, he served during WWII and Korea. Huck was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed camping, fly fishing, woodworking and spending time with his family. On September 16, 1949 in Millville, PA he married Nancy I. (Evans) Husted, who passed away October 31, 2016. He is survived by a daughter Shirley Coulter and her husband Patrick of West Decatur, a son in law Mahlon “Bart” Beals III of West Decatur, three grandchildren Jennifer Bell and her husband Adam, Matthew Coulter and his wife Tabitha and Krista Sherwood and her husband David and five great grandchildren Jonah, Annaleigh, Brooks, Luke and Kendall. In addition to his parents and wife, Huck was preceded in death by a daughter Susan Beals, six brothers Chester “Chet”, Russell “Buzz”, Harry “Newt”, Howard “Howd”, Merle “Kitty”, and Eugene “Gene”, and three sisters Hazel Test, Helen “Hen” Beish, Ethel “Ets” Morrison. A funeral service will be held at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, 228 N. Centre St. Philipsburg, on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 4:00 pm with Pastor Mike Knepp officiating. Full military honors will be conducted at the funeral home by the Moshannon Valley Independent Honor Guard. Burial will be in the Philipsburg Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday, April 22 from 1pm until the hour of service at 4pm.
