Obituary for Bonnie Jackson

Bonnie J. Jackson, 82, of Philipsburg, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Knickerbocker Villa Senior Living, Clearfield. Born August 14, 1938 in Ginter, she was a daughter of the late William and Catherine (Stine) Stern. Bonnie was a 1956 graduate of the former Moshannon Joint High School. She worked as a dental assistant at the Orthodontic offices of Dr. Bartges, Dr. Craig and Dr. Doerfler. Bonnie was a former member of the First Baptist Church, Philipsburg, and was a current member of the First Presbyterian Church, Philipsburg. She was a Stephen Minister and was a volunteer for the Moshannon Valley YMCA’s Backpack Program. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Bonnie is survived by her children Jill Irwin and her companion Thomas Kostyak of Philipsburg, Scott Jackson and his wife Marie of Aiken, SC and Angie Dixon of Philipsburg; six grandchildren Beth Irwin and Shannon Irwin, both of Philipsburg, Sawyer Jackson and Hunter Jackson, both of South Carolina and Isaiah Dixon and Lydia Dixon, both of Philipsburg; and one great grandson Matthew Wisor Jr., of Philipsburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Ruthie Metzger (formerly of Buffalo). A funeral service will be held at the Dahlgren-Spewock Funeral Home, Inc., on Saturday, January 30 at 1pm with Rev. Dr. Katie Hopper officiating. Bonnie will be laid to rest at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brisbin. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 12pm until the hour of service. All visitors will be required to wear a mask and maintain social distancing.
