Barbara Jean Stover-Nichols, 53, of Philipsburg, lost her battle with cancer on Friday, September 3, 2021 at Penn Highlands Huntingdon. Born October 15, 1967 in Bellefonte, she was a daughter of Dorothy L. (O’Brien) Stover of Smithmill and the late Theodore H. Stover. Barb was a 1986 graduate of Moshannon Valley High School and had worked at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clearfield. She enjoyed crafting and jigsaw puzzles. No matter how she was feeling, Barb was always thinking of Danny and her cats Isabella and Angus. She was never concerned about herself. On June 9, 2021, she married her companion of 24 years, Danny R. Nichols, who survives at home. Along with her husband Danny and two cats, Barb is survived by two step-children Sierra Nichols and her husband Matthew Gross of California (and their children Owen and Oliver) and Austin Nichols of Bellefonte; five brothers and sisters Lena Stover of Smithmill, Ken Stover of Bellefonte, Robin Williams of Bellefonte, Karen Ream of Bellefonte and Sheila Rickard and her husband Tim of Philipsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her Father, she was preceded in death by a niece Angela Smoyer. Honoring Barb’s wishes, there will be no public viewing and services will be private at the convenience of the family.
