Obituary for Anthony Koguc Jr.

Anthony J. “Tony” Koguc, Jr., 65, of Black Moshannon, passed away Monday, February 12, 2018 at Windy Hill Village. Born July 17, 1952 in Philadelphia, he was a son of Anthony J. Koguc Sr., of Black Moshannon and the late Joan (Shaw) Koguc. Tony graduated from a catholic school and completed his apprenticeship with the Carpenters Union. He retired in 2010 from Carpenters Union of Western Pennsylvania #950 and then drove for T.L. Bainey Trucking, Inc. for the past several years. Tony was a member of Ss Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Philipsburg. He was a volunteer Eucharist minister and taught CCDC for 12 years. Tony was a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed hunting, fishing, the beach, music and religion. He was a dedicated son, husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. On October 15, 1992 at Black Moshannon, he married Wendy S. Smeal, who survives. In addition to his father and wife, Tony is also survived by children Tony Weslyk and his wife Trish of Philadelphia, Stanley Joseph Koguc of Philadelphia, Samuel Warren Koguc of Austin, TX, Jamie Wiggins and her husband Roger of Wallaceton, Misty Quick of Philipsburg, and Gary Quick of Philipsburg; two brothers Gregory Koguc and his wife Chris of New Jersey and Warren Koguc of Florida; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents. A Funeral service will be held at the Dahlgren-Spewock Funeral Home, Inc., 228 N. Centre St. Philipsburg, on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Don Smith officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday, February 16 from 9am until the hour of service at 11am. Online condolences to the family may be made at www.dahlgren-spewock.com
